2 weeks old

Benjamin is 2 weeks old now! His trip to the doctor this week went well, but he isn't quite back to his birth weight yet. So, he needs to eat! He seems quite lazy at this, but loves to suck on his fists whenever he can get the chance. Benjamin's wide awake times seem to be late at night still. He likes to sleep during the day and be awake every hour at night. We are still working on this-hopefully it'll be corrected before Gram goes back to Indiana, as she has been a great help at midnight when we're exhausted!Maddie is still doing great with Ben. She runs to him whenever he cries and lays near him when he is on the floor. She licks his hands and feet, which grosses me out a bit, but I guess I'll have to get used to that! As long as he doesn't mind...

Burrito Ben

Benjamin likes to be swaddled, but this does not work at night! He only sleeps like this during the day, and then screams all night. We hope this pattern reverses soon, because we are not getting any sleep! Ben also has initiated his Mommy into motherhood by peeing (and pooping) all over her during a diaper change. This has not been a good day! Hopefully next time he'll give Daddy a turn. We had to do an emergency bath and load of laundry, but I think Ben felt much better afterwards.This is Ben's sleepy face! We think the froggy pajamas are quite fitting, as his legs do not straighten much, but are very powerful. He will surely be walking soon! :)

We survived day 4!

Today we went to the pediatrician and Ben is doing alright. He has lost a little weight though, as the feeding isn't going so well yet. We are working on it though. Benjamin does NOT like to have his diaper changed, and he loves to scream and stay up all night. We're hoping that tonight he'll let us sleep for atleast a couple of hours!
Aunt Nicole and Uncle David love their new nephew, and they are getting some practice for their own baby girl, arriving in June. Benjamin will be excited to meet his cousin!

Going home!

Our hospital stay was a little rough, as we didn't get any sleep, but were told to get used to that. This picture is just before going home.

Aunt Nicole and Maddie are so excited that Benjamin is here. Nicole has been so helpful, and Maddie is taking the new addition to her home really well. She even licks his toes when he cries!

Our Little Valentine

Benjamin Andrew Sawicki was born on February 14, 2008 at 11:07 pm, weighing in at 8 lbs 12 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. Everything went well with the labor and delivery, and he is very healthy!

We made it to 9 months!

3 more weeks to go! We're very excited and feel as prepared as possible for our new baby. We can't wait to be done with the pregnancy and meet our son!

Maddie is very curious in his room, and she's not sure what to think. She hasn't been on her best behavior lately, and seems to know that her spoiled world is about to change. Poor pooch.
